These are just a few of the many older advertisements, that were truly displeasing to us. We wanted to focus on this advertisement in particular:
This ad shows woman to be the lesser sex, through displaying that
women, are the ones who do the cooking in hopes of pleasing their husbands. It shows that even though a woman does the cooking she still makes a mistake and burns it. But the male is saying that at least she could mess up the beer.
This would appeal to customers at that time because they would this that it is funny but also that maybe if they were to buy that brand of beer that they would be able to always make their husbands happy.
But today I think that the message it sends is very different. It makes women feel upset and/ or angry because this message is insulting the whole female population saying basically that they make bad mistakes. It is overall just a very offensive ad.
